PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Fire Department rescued a hiker stuck in a perilous position on the south side of Camelback Mountain on Tuesday morning.

Rescue personnel were able to reach the unidentified man by using a rope system and then help him return to the trail.

The man, in his 40s, was uninjured, and the Fire Department said he went home on his own.
