APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. -- Pinal County authorities arrested a man who was shot during an attempted home invasion near Apache Junction.

The Sheriff's Office said three men were trying to kick in a back door when a resident fired a shotgun through the door. Another resident also shot through the door after seeing laser sights pointed at his head from outside.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the suspects returned fire before running away.

Authorities said 19-year-old Sal Anthony Olmos of Mesa was found in a neighbor's yard with shotgun wounds to his upper legs. The injuries weren't life-threatening.

Olmos was arrested on suspicion of burglary and other charges.
