PHOENIX -- Authorities have identified a naked man who was shot by Phoenix police after he scuffled with two officers.

Police said 26-year-old Raul Altimirano Suarez Jr. was declared dead at the scene Thursday afternoon.

Officers were called to a home near 51st Street and Virginia Avenue in Phoenix by a man who said his son was acting erratically.

They encountered Suarez, who told officers that he had taken heroin and some other drug.

The officers also said Suarez told them he was Satan and was going to kill them.

Both officers used their Tasers on Suarez with no effect. As Suarez continued to fight, a sergeant fired one fatal shot at Suarez.

Each officer suffered minor injuries in the scuffle. The sergeant was taken to a hospital for treatment.
