PHOENIX -- Authorities say a man has been fatally shot by a police officer in east Phoenix after a scuffle.

Police say the shooting arose out of a domestic disturbance call involving a father and son about 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

They say officers had been confronting an adult male inside a house near 51st Street and Virginia Avenue.

Police say the man and an officer engaged in a physical altercation and the officer fatally shot him.

The name of the man killed and the officer involved in the shooting haven't been released yet.
