Car wash held to benefit fallen Phoenix detective

PHOENIX -- A benefit car wash was held Wednesday to help the family of fallen Phoenix Police Detective John Hobbs at Danny's Family Car Wash in Paradise Valley.

"Until federal death benefits and other benefits kick in, the family needs financial support," said fficer Franklin Marino. "If you couldn't make it, we are taking donations to help the family, you can send a check to PLEA Charities."

Organizers have not released the dollar amount raised to help the Hobbs family.

There are other events coming up Friday to help the fallen officer's family, including a car wash at 5850 W. Thomas Road and a Yogurt with a Cop event at 15029 N. Thompson Peak Parkway.
