BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. Authorities in northwestern Arizona have arrested four people on suspicion of child abuse and animal neglect.

Bullhead City police say a search warrant served on a home found a house full of 22 dogs and five children who weren't allowed to go outside.

Officers say the children were living in filthy conditions with cockroaches throughout the residence and the floors covered in feces and trash.

Child Protective Services has taken custody of five children ranging in age from 5 to 10.

Authorities say there were locks on the refrigerator and food cabinets so the children couldn't access them.

The children told authorities that they hadn't been outside in several months.

Police say a married couple and two relatives are facing charges in the case.
