Prescott OKs temporary fence on Whiskey Row
PRESCOTT, Ariz. -- Prescott city officials have approved plans for temporary fencing at the site of a 2012 fire on Whiskey Row that destroyed three businesses.
The Daily Courier reported that the Prescott City Council unanimously agreed this week to the installation of a wrought-iron fence and green landscaping.
A temporary wood walkway has straddled the Whiskey Row sidewalk for more than a year.
The May 2012 fire swept through the Bird Cage Saloon, Pearl's Place Cafe and the Prescott Food Store.
Property owners Howard and Nancy Hinson, said they used most of their resources to restore the smoke-damaged building next door.
Officials did not decide on a date for when to install the fence.
The couple said filling the lot with a new building and storefronts is still the long-term goal.
