TUCSON, Ariz. -- Firefighters are investigating a fire at a Tucson school.

Tucson city officials say fire crews arrived around 11:40 p.m. Friday after multiple 911 calls reported smoke and flames coming from S.T.A.R. Academic Center.

Authorities say the fire was large and coming through the school's roof.

They say 16 units in all were dispatched and more than 40 firefighters worked to control the fire.

They say firefighters mostly worked from the outside because the roof and the presence of large air-condition units made the building unsafe.

City officials say there were no injuries and the cost of the damage is still undetermined.

Officials posted on the school's Facebook page Saturday morning that the structure was not one of the main campus buildings. Therefore, classes would not be affected.
