Man pleads guilty in Goodyear home burglaries
PHOENIX (AP) — A man accused in a string of forced-entry home burglaries in Goodyear last year has pleaded guilty in the case.
Maricopa County prosecutors say 25-year-old Augustine Bobby Ortega pleaded guilty Friday to burglary in the first-degree, burglary in the second degree and attempted burglary in the second degree.
Ortega and another suspect were arrested last June at a Phoenix home by Goodyear police and U.S. Marshals.
Authorities say Ortega and another man allegedly were linked to about a dozen "door-kick" burglaries in Goodyear.
They say suspected stolen items from Goodyear and other cities were recovered from the home, including electronics, guns and victims' identifications.
Ortega originally was arrested on suspicion of burglary, aggravated assault, theft, probation violation, credit card theft and unlawful flight from law enforcement.
