Phoenix man found guilty in deadly school fight
PHOENIX -- A Phoenix man has been convicted of second-degree murder for running down another parent with his vehicle after an argument at an elementary school.
Maricopa County Superior Court jurors also found 32-year-old Anthony Michael Parrinello guilty of leaving the scene of a fatal accident. school.
Parrinello was arrested in August 2012 after 42-year-old Carmello D'Alessandro was run over on a street about two blocks from Canyon Elementary School in Anthem. He later died at a hospital.
Parrinello and D'Alessandro both had children enrolled at the school.
As the men waited in a parking lot to pick up their children, witnesses said Parrinello argued with D'Alessandro and then challenged him to a fight at a nearby store.
Authorities said Parinello drove around looking for D'Alessando after he didn't show up.
