PHOENIX -- Police are investigating a hit-and-run after a body of a 34-year-old man was discovered on a Phoenix road.

Sgt. Tommy Thompson said Benjamin Snethen was found Friday around 8 p.m. and was pronounced dead by Phoenix firefighters called to the scene.

Thompson said Snethen's injuries are consistent with someone who was hit by a vehicle, but there is little physical evidence.

He said detectives are unsure if Snethen was struck at that location or elsewhere.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward or call the Silent Witness hotline at 480-WITNESS.
