CHANDLER, Ariz. — A Chandler couple survived a pickup truck slamming into their apartment early Tuesday morning, with little more than scratches.
Chandler Police said a car was speeding down an alley near Arizona Avenue and Ray Road when it veered into a studio apartment.
The couple inside the studio apartment was asleep on the couch when the truck barreled through the wall, narrowly missing them.
The woman inside the apartment was struck by flying debris and taken to hospital, but she was released. A man in the apartment was not hurt.
The 20-year-old man driving the truck was hospitalized and was to be booked on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Police said there was a cloud of dust across Ray Road when they arrived just moments after the crash.
