PHOENIX -- The Arizona Board of Regents has announced the formation of a 28-member search committee that will help find a president for Northern Arizona University.
NAU President John Haeger announced in September that he will retire at the end of his contract which runs through June 30, 2015.
Haeger was appointed NAU's president in 2001.
He oversaw an aggressive rebuilding of the aging Flagstaff campus and opened NAU-Yavapai in Prescott Valley that that offers bachelor's degrees in three years.
Members of the presidential search committee include representatives from the regents along with NAU administration, faculty, student and alumni.
Others on the committee come from state community colleges; community and business leaders and tribal government officials.
