PHOENIX — A man accused in a string of robberies in the Phoenix metropolitan area last year has been sentenced to six years in prison.

Maricopa County prosecutors said 30-year-old Luke Broeker also was sentenced Thursday to four years of supervised probation.

Broeker and his wife were arrested last September at a Mesa motel in connection with 10 robberies since August 2013.

Authorities said five of the robberies were businesses in Gilbert with three others in Mesa and two in Chandler.

Gilbert police said Shannon Broeker allegedly was present for many of the robberies along with the couple's four sons ranging in age from 1 to 6.
