PHOENIX -- School wrestling teams across Arizona aren't hitting the mat this weekend after reports that several athletes have come down with a skin infection.

The Arizona Interscholastic Association postponed all its sectional wrestling tournaments, which were to take place Saturday, as a precautionary measure.

AIA officials said when the competition does resume, anyone with a suspicious skin lesion will be prohibited from participating.

They have also called for mats to be disinfected between matches.

According to AIA, none of the infected wrestlers appear to have MRSA, a highly-contagious bacteria.

They said any athletes who discover any kind of skin lesion should see a doctor.
