TUCSON, Ariz. -- Tucson police say a man is in custody after he hit his wife with a car while under the influence of alcohol.

Sgt. Chris Widmer said 48-year-old Todd Rounds is in Pima County Jail on one count of second-degree murder.

Widmer said Rounds called 911 around 1:23 a.m. Saturday to report his involvement in a car accident near Krissy Avenue and Vendela Street.

Officers found him and 47-year-old Donna Rounds, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to investigators, it appears Todd Rounds was driving his Ford F150 Pickup north on Krissy Avenue when he struck his wife in the northbound lanes. Todd Rounds then walked back to the couple's home to call authorities.
