PHOENIX -- Phoenix police are investigating the death of a 46-year-old woman as a homicide.

Police said officers responded to a 911 call at a residence on Glendale Avenue near 27th Avenue on Friday around 1:30 p.m. They found Lovette Gallegos had suffered severe trauma.

Authorities said Gallegos was taken to a hospital where she died from her injuries.

Police said she was initially discovered by other people in the home after they heard some kind of commotion in another room.

Police are asking anyone with any information to call 602-262-6141.
