Trial date set for 2 Arizona men on weapons, drug charges
PHOENIX -- An April 1 trial has been set for two men on weapons and drug charges that were filed last year after authorities raided a property in Yavapai County.
Kirby Kehoe and his 37-year-old son, Cheyne, have pleaded not guilty to federal charges of illegally possessing firearms and body armor and intent to distribute marijuana.
Authorities said they seized dozens of guns and ammunition when they raided Kirby Kehoe's 40-acre property near Ash Fork.
Both men have previous felony convictions and are banned from possessing firearms.
Authorities said the Kehoe family was involved in a plot to overthrow the federal government and establish the Aryan Peoples Republic in the Pacific Northwest.
The elder Kehoe maintained he was never involved in his sons' efforts to establish a whites-only nation.
