TEMPE, Ariz. — They camped out in lawn chairs and bundled up for the night, waiting for the Friday opening of a Carl’s Jr. near Scottsdale and Curry roads.
Rick Clarke was one of the first 500 guests in line to get a coupon book for a free menu item every week for a year.
“I’ve been here probably a bit too long. Since 2 o’clock (Thursday) afternoon. It’s a good thing that Carl’s Jr. is doing for the community.”
The restaurant will feature drive-thru service, free Wi-Fi and partial tableside service.
There are 83 Carl’s Jr. restaurants across the state and new locations will open soon in Phoenix and Payson.
