SUV crashes into Tucson fast-food eatery, 3 hurt
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Three people were injured after a vehicle crashed into a patio area outside a Tucson eatery.
Tucson police said the crash involving an SUV occurred about 1 p.m. Wednesday outside the Chipotle Mexican Grill near the University of Arizona campus.
A spokesman for the Tucson Fire Department told the Arizona Daily Star that three college-age women were taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Police said the SUV drove over the curb and struck a bench. The bench then was pushed into the eatery's front door. It wasn't clear where the women were sitting or standing.
A picture on the Star's website shows the SUV with front-end bumper damage.
The names of the injured and the SUV driver weren't immediately released.
