PHOENIX -- Deliberations are underway in the trial of a Tempe man charged in the 2010 shooting death of his girlfriend.
Wade Bradford's trial began mid-January; jurors began deliberations Wednesday morning.
Authorities said Bradford fatally shot his ex-girlfriend when she came to his home with her new boyfriend to collect her belongings. He also faced a charge of aggravated assault after police said he threatened the boyfriend.
Bradford said the shooting was self-defense after the man charged at him, causing the gun to accidentally go off, striking the woman.
Separately, Bradford also is charged in the 2006 death of a previous girlfriend whose body was found in 2011. He has denied involvement in her death. A trial date in that case has not yet been set.
