PHOENIX — Arizona’s laws that prohibit discussion of homosexuality in classrooms is akin, but not as far-reaching, as homophobic legislation in Russia, a report said.
According to the Washington Post, Arizona is one of eight states that limit classroom instruction promoting homosexuality.
The Washington Post published an opinion piece saying Arizona does not want homosexuality cast in a positive light nor does it address safe homosexual intercourse.
Arizona prohibits portrayals of homosexuality as a “positive alternative life-style” and has legislatively determined that it is inappropriate to even suggest to children that there are “safe methods of homosexual sex.”
The other states that limit the discussion of homosexual acts are Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas and Utah.
