Tax season is now upon us. And for taxpayers who struggle to afford professionally-prepared tax returns, AARP Foundation’s Tax-Aide service is offering a helping hand.
“It’s a free service,” said AARP state director, Frank Perazelli. “We have about 1,250 counselors in the state at 77 different locations.”
AARP’s service, which has become the largest free tax assistance and preparation program in the nation, gives special attention to seniors but helps people who are at low-to-moderate income levels.
