PHOENIX -- Phoenix police say a woman is facing a manslaughter charge after her boyfriend was found mortally wounded in an apartment complex.

Authorities say officers responding to a call of shots fired Saturday around 4 a.m. found the 26-year-old victim on a stairwell landing.

They say it appears some kind of altercation occurred between him and the suspect, 24-year-old Ashley Eide.

Police say Eide's 5-year-old child was there but was unharmed.

Eide has been booked into jail.

Police are withholding the victim's name until next of kin has been notified.
