FLORENCE, Ariz. -- Authorities say a state prison inmate in Florence is accused of sexually assaulting a female staff member and stabbing her with a pen.

Arizona Department of Corrections says 20-year-old Jacob Harvey could be facing additional prison time after an investigation into Thursday's incident at the Meadows Unit of the Eyman complex.

The victim is a teacher in the Correctional Education Program at the Florence prison and reportedly was assaulted in a classroom.

According to DOC officials, her injuries aren't life-threatening. She was taken to an off-site medical facility for treatment and evaluation after the incident. Her name hasn't been released.

DOC officials say Harvey entered the state's prison system last March after being convicted in Maricopa County on charges of sexual assault and kidnapping and is serving a 20-year sentence.
