SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- A worker at Scottsdale water-treatment plant had to be rescued after falling into a hole.

Scottsdale Fire Department paramedics and technical rescue team responded to the treatment plant Thursday morning to perform a confined-space rescue.

The worker fell 5 feet off a pipe in a 20-foot deep vault, but wasn't seriously injured.

Crews still had to be careful extricating the worker from the vault because of possible back injuries.

The name of the worker wasn't immediately released.
