PHOENIX -- A West Valley woman in labor got an emergency assist on eastbound Interstate 10 freeway Tuesday morning.

A neighbor was already taking her to the hospital, driving along the median near 59th Avenue, said the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

They passed a Goodyear car, which then followed them to make a traffic stop. Police found out the woman was in labor and called an emergency crew. Her water hadn't broken and she was taken to a hospital.

Because of privacy laws, police could not give the woman's name.
