PHOENIX — Fire gutted a restaurant in central Phoenix early Tuesday morning but no one was injured.
Dozens of Phoenix firefighters knocked down the fire at a Julioberto’s Mexican restaurant near 32nd Street and McDowell Road that ignited around 4 a.m.
Flames shot out of the drive-thru window and out of the roof. Fire investigators will try to pinpoint a cause.
A fire department spokesman said restaurant fires are difficult to fight because of the large counters and limited space in the kitchen to run hose lines.
