MESA, Ariz. -- Authorities said the father of a 7-year-old Mesa girl injured in an all-terrain vehicle crash will be facing endangerment charges.

Mesa police said the unidentified girl was listed in stable but guarded condition Monday at a local hospital after she suffered a head injury from the crash.

Authorities said the girl's 30-year-old father had been teaching her how to drive the ATV in their neighborhood Sunday when she crashed, hitting a wall head first.

Mesa Fire Department officials said the child wasn't wearing a helmet.

She was driving the ATV by herself and lost control of the vehicle.

Police haven't released the man's name.
