Valley Metro increases service near Avondale

Jan 27, 2014, 9:47 AM | Updated: 9:47 am

PHOENIX — Avondale residents who use public transportation will see a few changes take effect Monday.

The city has worked with Valley Metro to both expand and increase the level of service to the city.

“It’s really important for us to support the passengers,” said Valley Metro Spokesperson Susan Tierney. “We are adding more service and expanding routes and that’s always good news for people. It really shows their tax dollars are supporting the service they are paying for.”

As a way to meet the demands tor transit service enhancements, service frequency has been increased along three routes from every hour to every half hour. Larger buses will be replacing the old fleet along with an expansion of the Zoom service.

To learn more about the changes, go to avondale.org/zoom, tollesonaz.org/zoom or valleymetro.org.

We want to hear from you.
