Hiker rescued after being stranded on Phoenix cliff

PHOENIX -- A woman has been rescued after being stranded since Wednesday morning on a mountain trail in Phoenix's Papago Park.

Phoenix Fire Department officials said the woman, who is in her 30s, told them she was hiking and got stuck on a 100-foot cliff.

Other hikers noticed her and called 911.

Fire units from Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tempe deployed technical rescue teams to reach her.

Crews reached the uninjured hiker about 9:30 a.m. Thursday.

After being evaluated, the woman was given a ride home.

The name and age of the woman wasn't immediately released by authorities.
