Two workers killed in fall at MCSO jail

PHOENIX — Two painters were killed while working on the Lower Buckeye Jail on Wednesday, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said.
MCSO Lt. Brandon Jones said the painters near the roof of the jail.
Jones said the workers were on a lift when it tipped over. The lift was extended to its furthest point.
“Both of those employees were treated by fire pretty immediately,” he said. “They had life-threatening injuries. They were taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital where they were pronounced dead.”
Both workers were contracted by MCSO to paint the jail. Both were employed by Riddle Painting.
