Former Arizona corrections officer pleads not guilty to sex crime
PHOENIX -- A former Arizona Department of Corrections officer accused of having sex with an inmate in the back of a state prison van has pleaded not guilty.
A Maricopa County Superior Court spokesman said 26-year-old Anthony James Marotta entered his plea Tuesday.
Marotta faced two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with an inmate.
The Department of Corrections said Marotta resigned Dec. 31.
