LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. -- The U.S. Bureau of Land Management is giving visitors a free pass to recreation sites in its Colorado River District.

The Today's News-Herald reports the agency says entrance fees will be waived on Monday, the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.

District Manager Roxie Trost says this is an opportunity to help others experience public lands.

Recreation areas that will have free admission include 87 Lake Havasu campsites, the Bullfrog Day-Use Area and Crossroads and Empire Landing campgrounds.

Areas that will be free in the region of the BLM Kingman office are Burro creek, Wild Cow Springs and Windy Point Recreation sites.

Site standard amenity and individual day-use fees won't be charged. But other fees, such as overnight camping and group day-use will be in effect.
