PHOENIX -- The sentencing trial of Jodi Arias has been scheduled to start March 17, said the Maricopa County Superior Court.

An official court tweet went out late Monday morning.

A mistrial was declared in May after a jury failed to reach a unanimous decision in the penalty phase. Arias was convicted of the murder of her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander in May 2013.

Arias had claimed self-defense in the killing.

Sine then, the defense has tried to move the trial out of Phoenix but a judge denied that and also banned live media coverage of the sentencing.

Since then proceedings have been sparsely updated.
