PHOENIX -- Authorities say a man has apparently jumped to his death off a six-story parking garage near the downtown Phoenix area.

Phoenix police were called to the scene about 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

They say the case appears to be a suicide, but they're still investigating it.

The parking garage is located at Second Street and Van Buren.

Police say the man is his 30s. His name wasn't immediately available.

The man was taken to a Phoenix hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
