GILBERT, Ariz. -- Authorities said an instructor with the Army Junior ROTC program at Gilbert's Highland High School is accused of sexual conduct with a student.

Gilbert police said 41-year-old Joseph Stephenson was taken into custody Monday and booked into the downtown Phoenix jail.

He's being held on suspicion of sexual conduct with a minor.

Police said Stephenson is accused of having had a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old female student, but didn't release any information on when it is said to have happened.

It wasn't immediately clear Tuesday how long Stephenson has been a Reserve Officer Training Corps program instructor at the school or if he has a lawyer yet for his case.
