GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Two people are in custody in connection with an armed robbery at the Arrowhead Towne Center in Glendale.

Authorities say 35-year-old Michael John Hough and his 33-year-old wife Shaashana Marie Hough had their initial appearances Monday in Maricopa County Superior Court.

Shaashana Hough is being held on $50,000 bond on suspicion of armed robbery and aggravated assault while Michael Hough is being held on $38,000 bond on suspicion of armed robbery.

Glendale police say the Houghs allegedly tried to shoplift a drill from a Sears store Friday.

As an unarmed loss-prevention officer tried to detain them, Shaashana Hough allegedly drew a handgun from a backpack and pointed it at the officer.

The couple fled on a motorcycle, which police later recovered at an apartment complex. They were arrested Saturday night.
