PHOENIX -- A driver plowed into the lobby of a Mesa motel then left the scene before he was caught by police early Monday morning.

No one was injured, although an employee standing at the front desk of the Travelodge at Main Street and Greenfield Road was nearly hit by the car.

Besides smashing through the lobby, the driver also crashed into a pillar when he backed up to leave. He was caught by police a few blocks away and charged with suspicion of drunk driving and leaving the scene of an accident.
