SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Scottsdale police investigated the scene a fatal collision at a Valley Costco on Saturday.

Authorities said an 86-year-old male backed his Jeep SUV into another vehicle at the Costco gas pumps on 15255 N. Hayden Road in Scottsdale, Ariz.

When the female driver, Patricia Covault, 74, exited her vehicle to inspect the damage, the driver of the Jeep then backed over her and dragged her for a short distance.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Costco remained open as police investigated, but the gas pumps were closed for a few hours

Police said alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the incident.

Scottsdale officer David Pubins said Sunday there will be no criminal charges for the driver of the Jeep.
