GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Authorities in Glendale are searching for a driver who fled the scene after hitting a fire engine that was headed to a medical call.

Glendale police said the accident occurred around 8 a.m. Friday when a driver ran a red light at the intersection of 51st and Glendale avenues.

They said the driver broadsided the fire engine, but was apparently uninjured and fled the scene on foot.

No firefighters were injured in the wreck, but the truck was heavily damaged.
