PHOENIX — After a three-week hiatus, Tips for Jesus, a group of anonymous patrons that has been leaving large tips for servers all around the country, has returned to the Valley.

On Dec. 3, the unidentified group left a $2,500 tip for co-owner Micah Olsen at Crudo, a restaurant located at 36th Street and Indian School Road.

This time, the spot was the Derby Public House at 4420 N. Saddlebag Trail in Old Town Thursday night. Bartender Kristi Jonas received an anonymous tip of $2,000

“I looked down and it was $2,000,” Jonas told KPHO in Phoenix. “When I looked back up they were filming me on their phones and then they told me, ‘Hey, we’re those guys. We’re the tips for Jesus guys

“I have my daughter and I have my stepdaughter too and they got spoiled, so now we get to repay that money.”

Talk about a wonderful gesture during the holiday season.

We want to hear from you.
