PHOENIX -- Crews in northern Arizona continue to search for a hiker missing since last week near Sedona.

Coconino County sheriff's officials say 22-year-old Thomas Lang was last seen last Wednesday at the Manzanita Campground in Oak Creek Canyon.

Lang was carrying a sleeping bag, guitar and a backpack but didn't take a cellphone or food. His family says he had plenty of water and is an experienced outdoorsman.

Search efforts entered a third day Wednesday as temperatures dropped into the 30s overnight.

Authorities say Lang was dropped off at the campground around 11 a.m. Wednesday and his destination was along the Sterling Pass area of Oak Creek Canyon.

He was expected to return mid-morning Sunday. When he failed to show, his family called authorities.
