PHOENIX -- Authorities have released the names of two pedestrians who were killed in separate vehicle collisions in Phoenix last weekend.

Phoenix police say 40-year-old Justin John Wright was run over about 9:30 p.m. Saturday while he was laying down on Camelback Road near Interstate 17.

Wright was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Police say it's still unclear why Wright was prone in the middle of the road.

They say the driver of the car wasn't impaired and didn't see Wright until it was too late.

In the other incident, police say 27-year-old Elroy Gorman was killed about 12:30 a.m. Sunday when he was hit by a car while crossing Bell Road at 19th Avenue against the crosswalk signal.

Gorman died at the scene. Police say the driver wasn't impaired.
