PHOENIX — A man from Phoenix married his partner on Friday after a Utah judge struck down a state ban on same-sex marriage.
Seth Anderson, a Phoenix native now living in Salt Lake City, and his partner, Michael Ferguson, were married just a few hours after the ban ended.

In multiple tweets, Anderson chronicled he and Ferguson’s trip to the county clerk’s office to apply for a marriage license.
We are not married yet. This is so new. The clerk doesn't have clearance… Yet

More of Anderson’s tweets said that lines were out the door at the Salt Lake City office he was at.
Despite a judge striking the ban, the Utah attorney general’s office has requested an emergency stay to stop same-sex marriages in the state so they can review the ruling and file an appeal.
