PHOENIX -- Two men charged in a home invasion that killed an elderly Phoenix couple have been sentenced to prison.
Maricopa County prosecutors say 53-year-old Kevin Michael Taubman was sentenced to natural life in prison Thursday while 26-year-old Lester Alexander Dunnings got a 28-year term.
The men were arrested in south Phoenix home invasions days apart in November 2010 in which the elderly residents were bound and beaten.
Phoenix police say Dunnings and Taubman forced their way into one home and tied up a 90-year-old man and his 87-year-old wife.
Authorities say both victims suffered heart attacks during the assault and died.
The two men robbed another house four days later and beat an 83-year-old man and his 81-year-old wife.
Taubman was convicted of first-degree murder and Dunnings entered a plea agreement.
