Arizona unemployment rate drops slightly
PHOENIX -- Arizona's unemployment dropped by four-tenths of a percentage point to 7.8 percent in November as the state's economic recorded job gains.
Arizona Department of Administration economists said the state's economy added 25,900 nonfarm jobs in November, with the vast majority added in the private sector.
The state's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in October was 8.2 percent, down from 8.3 percent in September.
Meanwhile, the national jobless rate dropped nearly as much as the state rate. The national rate dropped from 7.3 percent to 7 percent in November.
Overall, nine of the 11 major economic sectors and two were flat over the month.
The trade, transportation and utilities sector accounted for 15,400 additional jobs, more than half of the increase.
