Phoenix police identify victim of fatal rollover
PHOENIX -- Authorities say a man is dead after being ejected from a car during a rollover accident in west Phoenix.
Phoenix police have identified the victim as 28-year-old Benjamin Caleb Smith.
Police say Smith's car hit a mailbox and tree stump, causing the vehicle to roll over.
They say Smith was ejected from the car and was declared dead at the scene.
Neighbors told police they heard a crash before 3 a.m. Wednesday.
The cause of the crash isn't immediately clear.
Police say there were no skid marks for investigators to determine the speed of the car when it crashed.
