Phoenix man gets 25-year prison term in drugs case
PHOENIX -- A Phoenix man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison in a drug- trafficking case.
Federal prosecutors said 53-year-old Ralph C. Moreno also was sentenced Monday to 10 years of supervised released and fined $3,000.
A federal jury in September found Moreno guilty of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and felon in possession of a firearm.
Investigators said Moreno sold meth out of his Phoenix home to people associated with a prison-based gang in 2010.
A search warrant was issued at Moreno's home and authorities said they found two firearms and more than $75,000 in drug money.
Prosecutors said Moreno had two prior state felony convictions for drug trafficking.
