NOGALES, Ariz. -- A Mexican national is facing drug charges after agents say he tried to smuggle nearly 1,850 pounds of marijuana into Arizona through a shipment of watermelons.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection say the 32-year-old man was arrested Thursday while trying to cross the Mariposa Port of Entry.

Officials say officers found 200 bundles of marijuana worth about $924,000 hidden among a shipment of watermelons in the man's tractor-trailer rig.

Authorities say the driver was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
